Cassandra Henderson was introduced to theatre arts at a very young age, an experience that later propelled her into television and film production. It was commonplace for the family to attend live theatrical productions as well as dinner theatre shows. These initial encounters wit the arts sparked a relationship with Cassandra that continues to grow and develop.
By the age of five Cassandra had already played roles in The Wizard of Oz and Cinderella. In 1987, the family moved from their home in New Rochelle, New York to relocate to Marietta, Georgia where Cassandra spend most of her life. Despite the move, the remained active in performance based activities including singing, dancing and acting. In 1999, Cassandra was inducted into the National Thespian Society as an Honor Thespian. By then, she had played leading and supporting roles in over 15 stage productions, hosted and produced her own television segment Hey Cassie which was televised on the local public access channel. Cassandra was also featured with Jane Fonda in a promotional vidoe for Turner Broadcasting which debuted at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta, Georgia before the premiere of Batman and Robin.
In May 2004, Cassandra graduated summa cum laud and Phi Beta Kappy from Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre & Drama. In May 2007, she graduated from Loyola Marymount University's School of Film and Teleivision where she earned a Master of Fine Arts degree in Film Production.
Cassandra has been active in theatre for the past 23 years with experience in acting, writing, directing, stagemanagement, scene, lighting, and costume design, set construction, and properties management, design and construction. Her most recent theatre works and credits include Twilight Los Angeles 1992, In the Blood, Tartuffe, The Vagina Monologues, and the bay area production of For Colored Girls.... She has also directed WOMBmanWars, The Man Who Trusted the Devil Twice, as well as her own original children's play Mother Goose vs. The Big Bad Wolf. Cassandra's writing credits include the stage plays What I Gave You, When the Rain Comes, Mother Goose vs. The Big Bad Wolf, and Paralell Lies; and the screenplays Words of a Child, Smiles, Many Mansions, and The 80's Musical. In addition, Cassandra has also writeen directed and produced the short films Nobody Loves Me, UnCHAINged, Many Mansions and Free among other writing, directing, producing, and editing credits.
Cassandra brings a wealth of experience in musical theatre and film production. Additionally, she possesses a truly superb ability to see projects through to fruition using both a high level of creative as well as fiscal responsibility. In 2008, Cassandra officially incorporated Yardi Entertainment, Inc. based in Marietta, Georgia.
